In November 2020, a total of 26 members of the Soroptomist Village and Activity Centre took part in an exciting educational and relaxing workshop and tree planting activity as part of WIRRED’s grant from the Cable and Wireless Foundation.
The elderly participated in a workshop called ‘Grow Your Health in a Pot’ followed by a planting activity where they planted various herbs, vegetables, and fruit trees. These included basil, chives, various peppers, celery, beets, cabbage, lime, guava, pomegranate and more! This activity assisted in increasing food production at the centre. These foods will be used to cook meals for all members.
