In October 2020, to celebrate Canada’s National Tree Day and World Habitat Day, Her Excellency, Ms. Marie Legault, High Commissioner of Canada to Barbados, and The Honourable Adrian Forde, Minister of the Environment and Natural Beautification contributed to the One Tree for Every Bajan Program.

In collaboration with Walkers Institute for Regenerative Research, Education and Design’s (WIRRED) Walkers Reserve Project these two government officials and 50 staff members planted 50 coconut trees and one (1) Baobab tree.

Both the Canadian High Commission and the Government of Barbados recognize the power of trees and support the overarching goal of the One Tree for Every Bajan Program!
